In the fast-paced world of technology, the intersection of computer science and marketing has become increasingly crucial. Recognizing this, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi recently hosted Dev’s Day, with our Digital Ninja workshop serving as a guide for computer science students through the importance of marketing in their field.
This unique collaboration aimed to empower future developers with the knowledge and skills needed to not only create groundbreaking products but also effectively market them in today’s competitive landscape.
Conducted by DE’s Director Operations, Safeer E Hussain, this workshop explored the fundamental concept that students need to grasp – a collaboration of technology and marketing. The workshop highlighted the importance of viewing product development and marketing as two sides of the same coin.
Developers, often immersed in the intricacies of code, may overlook the significance of setting clear business goals. Understanding this not only enhances the development process but also ensures that the end product meets market needs effectively.
In a crowded digital marketplace, having a USP is paramount. The workshop shed light on the importance of developers identifying and highlighting the unique features of their creations. Whether it’s a revolutionary algorithm or a user-friendly interface, recognizing and promoting the USP can set a product apart from the competition.
The main objective of this session was to focus on building sellable, appealing narratives around digital products. The aspiring developers of IBA were introduced to the art of storytelling – a powerful tool in marketing that goes beyond technical specifications, resonating with users on a human level
The workshop wasn’t just about theory; it included interactive sessions where students applied the principles learned. Real-world case studies demonstrated how successful tech products were not only born out of innovation but were also propelled into the spotlight through effective marketing strategies.
The purpose of this Ninja was to guide the next generation of developers to not only create remarkable products, but also to strategically position them in the digital marketplace. And we hope to take part in future sessions like this as well.
